The Challenge
Microbial pathogens are responsible for 2 out of 10 deaths according to the World Health Organization (2016). Some reports predict that by 2050, there is more chance that our children or grandchildren would die as a result of antimicrobial resistance than cancer. Yet while the development of a new drug takes around 10 years, there is another important thing we can right now do to stop this dangerous development. Diagnostics! The earlier you detect a microbial contamination the faster you can act to ensure your food is safe, or that you apply the right drug.
Carbapenemase producing bacteria
S. aureus / MRSA
ESBL producing bacteria
Antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST)
STDs (Neisseria, Chlamydia)
Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Mycobacterium tuberculosis
